Cynthia RussellBy Cynthia RussellJanuary 1, 2024

There are few more popular places in the United States to visit than Kentucky in May. One of the biggest reasons for this is due to the hugely popular Kentucky Derby being staged on the first Saturday of the month.

The event is one of the biggest sporting dates in the international diary, with thousands of fans attending the horse racing from across the world. Kentucky is busy during the month of May, with visitors looking for things to do in the week leading up to the Derby.

But, what should be some of the attractions that are included on the lists of all visitors that will be attending the Kentucky Derby in 2024?

Kentucky Derby Museum

If you’re visiting Kentucky in early May, then you will likely be visiting the state to attend the Kentucky Derby. One of the perfect attractions to visit get excited for the action on track is the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs. Entry to the establishment costs £17, and it is the perfect way to get excited for the action on track by learning more about the history of one of the world’s most famous races.

The tour is available to attend throughout the year, meaning it is open even when there isn’t any racing taking place on track. There are two levels of history to take in at the museum, with regular temporary exhibits also staged inside the museum.

One of the most unique features that will give you the Derby feel is the 360-degree immersive experience, which will enable visitors to learn exactly what attending one of the most famous races in the world will feel like from the standings. There is also an excellent gift shop to get any last minute gifts for friends and family.

The next Derby will be the 150th edition, so the state and the racetrack are preparing for the big event. You can already make your predictions for potential winner participating on Kentucky Derby betting by TwinSpires.com.

There are six ziplines at over 100 feet off the ground located at the Cavern, with two challenge bridges also available for those looking to achieve something at a greater height. All visitors will be able to spend two and a half hours at the Cavern, with a favourite for the kids being the Mega Quest.
